چکیده
The instrumentation, methods and applications of near-infrared spectroscopy has advanced remarkably in the last decade, which successfully progressed at multiple directions faced new challenges. Thus, gaps inevitably appeared coverage provided by renowned handy cornerstone textbooks focused on that were published past. A demand grew community for a state-of-the-art textbook. With aim to satisfy such need, go-to-book background theory, tutorial “Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Theory, Spectral Analysis, Instrumentation, Applications” was prepared. That full-scale project, edited Yukihiro Ozaki, Christian Huck, Satoru Tsuchikawa Søren B. Engelsen, comprises 23 chapters contributed scholars practitioners pushing frontier spectroscopy. scope newly opened pathways, major breakthroughs basic science as well revisit several other topics. sourcebook is intended wide range readers from graduate students scientists engineers both academia industry. In this article, we sketch main features released with help members deciding whether book should find its place their library.

A Comparative Study Concerning Linear and Nonlinear Models to Determine Sugar Content in Sugar Beet by Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR)
This paper reports on the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Partial Least Squareregression (PLS) combined with NIR spectroscopy (900-1700 nm) to design calibration models for thedetermination of sugar content in sugar beet. In this study a total of 80 samples were used as the calibration set, whereas 40 samples were used for prediction. Three pre-processing methods, including Multiplic...
متن کاملbrain near-infrared spectroscopy (nirs)
near-infrared spectroscopy (nirs) is a spectroscopic method that uses the near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. typical applications include medical and physiological diagnostics. nirs can be used for non-invasive assessment of brain function through the intact skull in human subjects by detecting changes in blood hemoglobin concentrations associated with neural activity, e.g., ...
متن کاملNear-infrared spectroscopy applications in pharmaceutical analysis.
Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is a fast and non-destructive analytical technique that offers many advantages for a broad range of industrial applications. In this work, we reviewed recent developments in the pharmaceutical domain where it can be applied from raw material identification to final product release. The characteristics of NIR allow the technique to be implemented as a process ana...
متن کاملDetermining Blood Glucose Concentration using Near Infrared Spectroscopy: Early Findings
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is one of the diseases that have grown dramatically in today's societies. People with diabetes should continuously measure their blood glucose level. Continuous blood glucose measurement by commonly used methods is painful and difficult. On the other hand, mobile phone can be a useful tool for accessing physicians and telemedicine services more easily. The aim of...
